How to get the latitude and longitude coordinates of a location

To get the latitude and longitude coordinates of a location using Google Maps, follow these steps:

Using Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps:
  2. Search for the Location:
    • Enter the address or name of the place you want to find in the search bar and press Enter.
  3. Click on the Location:
    • Once the location appears on the map, right-click on the exact spot you want the coordinates for.
  4. Get the Coordinates:
    • A context menu will appear. Click on “What’s here?”
    • The latitude and longitude coordinates will appear in the information box at the bottom of the screen.

Using Google Maps Mobile App

  1. Open the Google Maps App:
    • Launch the Google Maps app on your smartphone.
  2. Search for the Location:
    • Enter the address or name of the place in the search bar and tap on the search icon.
  3. Tap and Hold the Location:
    • Tap and hold on the exact spot on the map until a red pin drops.
  4. Get the Coordinates:
    • The coordinates will be displayed in the search bar at the top of the screen or in a pop-up window at the bottom.

Using URL from Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps:
  2. Search for the Location:
    • Enter the address or name of the place you want to find in the search bar and press Enter.
  3. Copy the URL:
    • Once the location appears on the map, look at the URL in your browser’s address bar. The coordinates are usually embedded in the URL in the format @latitude,longitude.

  • The latitude and longitude in this example are 37.7749295 and -122.4194155 respectively.

Using any of these methods, you can easily find the latitude and longitude of any location using Google Maps.
